Applications are open until September 9, 2025

Capixaba researchers now have the opportunity to conduct research in Germany. The Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa e Inovação do Espírito Santo (Fapes) has joined the 2025 call of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) through the National Council of State Research Support Foundations (Confap).

This program provides supplementary funding to Fapes PhD scholarships, enabling students to carry out part of their thesis research in Germany. Interested candidates may apply until September 9, 2025, for research stays between May 2026 and January 2027.

The DAAD aims to encourage research projects within PhD programs. According to Fapes guidelines, eligible applicants must be current Fapes scholarship holders, not in their first or final year of the PhD, and must be selected by DAAD. Click here for Fapes guidelines.

Funded projects may include research or continuing education at a state or officially recognized higher education institution or non-university research institute in Germany, conducted in coordination with an academic advisor in Germany. Click here for more details on the DAAD 2025 call.
