Pre-proposal submissions are open until November 17, 2025.
Opportunities for the internationalization of research from Espírito Santo continue to expand. On Tuesday (October 30), the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa e Inovação do Espírito Santo (Fapes) announced its participation in the 3rd Joint Transnational Call: Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership 2025-2026, through the National Council of State Research Support Foundations (Confap), under the European research and innovation program Horizon Europe.
The call focuses on “Digitalization and innovation for resilient marine ecosystems, companies, and communities to strengthen the competitiveness of the European Union’s blue economy”. It is part of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030) and involves the participation and co-funding of 38 funding agencies from 28 countries and the European Union.
The objective is to support transnational research and innovation projects, lasting 36 months, addressing one of five priority areas:

Transition of blue economy sectors and development of coexistence and multi-use marine infrastructure;
-
Climate-smart marine spatial planning and management at regional level;
-

-
Resilient coastal communities and businesses.
In Espírito Santo, Fapes will support one project with a maximum value of €40,000, funded by the State Fund for Science and Technology (Funcitec). Financial support through Fapes will follow the eligible items outlined in Resolution CCAF 309/2022.
