Fapes Joins the Confap – Marie Sklodowska-Curie 2025 International Call
The foundation will provide approximately BRL 175,000 in total for selected projects.
The Espírito Santo Research and Innovation Support Foundation (Fapes) continues to open pathways for the internationalization of scientific, technological, and innovation research produced in Espírito Santo. The Confap – Marie Sklodowska-Curie (Staff Exchange) 2025 Call is now open, inviting Brazilian researchers to participate in collaborative research and innovation projects in intersectoral, international, and interdisciplinary modalities. Applications are open until October 28, 2025.
The call is launched by Confap based on the Administrative Agreement signed in 2021 between the European Commission (DG-RTD), Confap, the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), and the Financier of Studies and Projects (Finep). The agreement establishes mechanisms to support cooperation between the European Union and Brazil in research and innovation activities.
Fapes will support up to four collaborative mobility and research projects of scientific excellence, providing exchanges involving European Union (EU) countries and Horizon Europe associated countries, with a maximum funding of BRL 43,900 per project. Selected projects will have a duration of up to 24 months, and Fapes’ financial support may cover operational and capital expenses, excluding scholarships.
Collaborative projects must involve at least three EU or Horizon Europe associated countries and will be proposed by European coordinators through the Horizon Europe platform. To be eligible for Fapes funding, Espírito Santo researchers must be listed as principal investigators on a project selected under the Horizon Europe program.
“Internationalizing research in Espírito Santo is essential to position the state as innovative and competitive internationally. By connecting our researchers with global centers of excellence, we strengthen the scientific and technological development carried out by Espírito Santo institutions, expand partnerships, and increase the visibility of the knowledge generated, benefiting the development of the state,” said Rodrigo Varejão, Director General of Fapes.
