Fapes to Support Capixaba Projects in Two New Transnational Calls
Water4All – Water and Health 2025 and Biodiversa+ (BiodivConnect 2025-2026) are now open for submissions.
Opportunities for the internationalization of research from Espírito Santo continue to expand. On Wednesday (September 17), the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa e Inovação do Espírito Santo (Fapes) announced its participation in two additional transnational calls through the National Council of State Research Support Foundations (Confap). The calls include Water4All – Water and Health 2025 and Biodiversa+ (BiodivConnect 2025-2026), both under the European research and innovation program Horizon Europe.
Transnational Call: Water4All – Water and Health 2025
The European Partnership for Water Security (Water4All) launched this call to support research and innovation projects addressing key challenges at the intersection of water and human health, including water quality, contaminants, and treatment technologies. Submitted proposals must address at least one of the following topics:
-
Waterborne contaminants and health risks – Investigate the occurrence, behavior, and interactions of contaminants and identify vulnerable populations.
-
Innovative monitoring tools and technologies – Develop and apply new methods to monitor water quality and human exposure.
-
Water treatment and exposure reduction – Propose treatment solutions and strategies to reduce exposure to harmful substances.
-
Governance, socioeconomic innovation, and policy integration – Explore inclusive governance models and policies integrating water and health priorities.
Water4All is implemented under Horizon Europe and is a network of organizations from multiple countries that plan and fund multidisciplinary water research. The call involves institutions from 30 countries and the European Commission.
In Espírito Santo, Fapes will support one project with a maximum funding of €40,000, sourced from the State Fund for Science and Technology (Funcitec). Project duration is up to 36 months, and funding may cover travel and per diem expenses, according to Fapes regulations.
